DO FAIRIES AND GOBLINS
Do fairies and goblins come this way
When darkness falls and colours fade?
Do furry creatures look left and right
Before they cross in the heart of night?
Does Toad, as he walks, with head in the air
Feel pleased that the trees hide nobody there?
Do the spiders and ants hear the fall of a step
As they scurry beneath the leaves that have wept?
Do the tiniest of insect feel the hint of a sigh
As the breeze drops to nothing and kisses goodbye?
Then only the mole who lives all by himself
Knows the last into bed is always…the elf.
